Corporate Social Responsibility

At Alliance Cleaning we believe that being a great cleaning company means more than just spotless spaces, it means being a responsible and positive force in the communities we serve.

Alliance Cleaning was founded in 1998 as a family business with a goal that went beyond cleaning buildings. We wanted to make a genuine difference to the people around us, and that principle has not changed in over 28 years.

Our corporate social responsibility covers three areas:

  1. the communities we serve
  2. the people we employ
  3. the environment we all share

Community giving sits at the heart of it. Through our Alliance Giving Back initiative, activities are provided completely free of charge, with our staff volunteering their own time to support non-profit organisations and local causes.

What is Alliance Giving Back?

Alliance Giving Back is our community engagement programme and in 2025, we pledged 650 volunteer hours to local non-profit organisations.

Every one of those hours is donated freely by our teams.

The programme is not a one-off gesture but runs year-round and covers a range of community support, from hands-on cleaning projects to longer-term partnerships with organisations that need practical help.

How does Alliance Cleaning support local communities?

We partner with local charities, housing associations, care organisations, and community groups to deliver cleaning support where it is needed most. For many of the people and places we help, access to a clean, safe environment makes a real difference to quality of life and dignity.

In practice, our community work includes free or subsidised cleans for community facilities and support centres, affordable cleaning services for low-income individuals and families, staff volunteering at community clean-up events and local projects, and partnerships with local councils and non-profits to support neighbourhood cleaning initiatives.

Our teams choose the causes they get involved with.

Alliance Giving Back is built into how we operate, and our people are genuinely invested in the communities we serve.

"In 2025 alone our staff pledged 650 volunteer hours because giving back should be more than words in a policy document. Our teams get involved in community projects, local clean-ups, and partnerships with organisations that need practical support. It is part of who we are as a family-run business, and our people genuinely want to be involved."

Danny Bishop, CEO

Can my organisation partner with Alliance on a community project?

We welcome partnerships with local organisations, councils, charities, and non-profits. If you have a community cleaning initiative, a facility that needs support, or a project that could benefit from our teams’ time and skills, we would like to hear from you.

Contact us on 01992 700073 or email [email protected] to start the conversation.

How does Alliance Cleaning invest in its people?

Giving back extends to how we treat our own team. We have always believed in offering careers rather than just jobs.

Everyone has access to the Alliance Pathway, our in-house development programme that builds practical business skills across six areas including financial awareness, customer service, and health and safety compliance. The programme is open to everyone regardless of role or experience.

Alliance offers fair wages with competitive rates, overtime, and holiday pay. We recognise performance through Employee of the Month awards and long-service recognition, and we are working towards becoming a London Living Wage Employer as recognised by the Living Wage Foundation.

All staff undergo thorough vetting with enhanced DBS clearance available where required.

Every new team member receives a full induction covering safeguarding, health and safety, and the specifics of their site. Regular one-to-one meetings and structured career development pathways help us keep good people for the long term.

What environmentally responsible practices does Alliance follow?

We are ESG enabled and use eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products across all our contracts.

Our environmental approach includes water-efficient cleaning techniques, waste minimisation through recycling and reuse, and efficient route planning to reduce vehicle emissions. We work with suppliers who meet our environmental standards and support both staff and clients in building sustainable cleaning habits on site.

All of this sits within our ISO 14001-certified Environmental Management System, which is independently audited.

With more than 500,000 certifications in over 180 countries, ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised benchmark for environmental management.

We also hold ISO 9001 for Quality Management and ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety, giving clients verified assurance across all three areas.

For clients working towards their own ESG targets, our certifications and documented environmental practices can support your sustainability reporting.

How does Alliance Cleaning hold itself accountable?

Our clients have access to a dedicated portal providing full contract visibility, with regular reports on cleaning activity, response times, and any issues along with how we resolved them. Contract managers look after fewer sites than the industry average, so each client receives greater attention and genuine ownership of outcomes.

When something needs addressing, our one-hour response time means problems are dealt with before they grow.

Our three ISO certifications each require independent annual audits, so our management systems are verified by external assessors on a regular cycle.
